Doechi revealed the track list for her anticipated third mixtape, ‘Alligator Bites Never Heal’, on Tuesday (August 20).

The 26-year-old rapper, born Jaylah Ji’mya Hickmon, made the announcement on August 14 as she celebrated her birthday. The project will be released on August 30.

The ‘Persuasive’ singer had been sharing images and a short clip of mixtape visuals on her Instagram page since August 14. While she has multiple songs with heavy R&B influences, Doechii is mainly known for her energetic flow and lyrical dexterity.

The Tampa, Florida native dubbed herself as the ‘Swamp Princess’ in 2022 and has always embraced her southern roots. In an interview with ELLE Magazine Doechii mentioned the inspiration behind her ‘Alter Ego’ music video with Florida rapper JT who was formerly apart of The City Girls.

“I wanted to take my audience to the swamp. Not a lot of people see that very country Florida environment like that. Usually when people think of Florida, they think of Miami. So I wanted to take them out of the city and show them a country aesthetic. I’m gearing up for an album. Hopefully it comes out this year,” she said.

The mixtape has nineteen tracks including songs she posted on her Instagram as part of her ‘Swamp Sessions’ series, where she writes and posts songs within an hour. The singer also posted the official teaser for the mixtape on her YouTube channel.
