Paramount Trading (Jamaica) has made changes in its board membership and its compensation committee.
This is as a consequence of the resignation of Daniel Chin as a director and, consequently, as a member of the Compensation Committee, effective September 19, 2025. Chin has expressed that this decision was made after careful consideration, citing the demanding nature of his current business prospects.
He has conveyed his appreciation for the support of the board of directors, management, staff and shareholders during the tenure of his appointment and expressed confidence in Paramount’s leadership and future prospects. The Paramount family thanks Chin for his valuable contributions and wishes him continued success in his future endeavours.
He has been replaced by Don Gittens as a director and a member of the compensation committee. The appointment takes effect today, September 23.

Paramount welcomes Gittens, whose extensive experience in management, business development and strategic leadership will be invaluable as it continues its growth objectives. Gittens is the Chief Executive Officer of Manpower and Maintenance Services Limited Group, which includes Manpower and Maintenance Services Limited (MMS), Manpower & Maintenance Business Services Limited (MMBS), Manpower and Maintenance Sales and Distribution Limited, the Institute for Workforce Education & Development (IWED), Manpower & Maintenance Services Foundation and the M’Power Women’s Group.
Seasoned practitioner
A seasoned management professional, he has represented Jamaica at the highest levels internationally and brings over 20 years of expertise in business development, strategic planning, international investment and trade negotiations, policy development, strategic marketing, client relationship management, consultative and technology sales and project management. His professional experiences include several roles in management, most notably at Jamaica Promotions Corporation (JAMPRO).
Gittens holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Project Management from the Mona School of Business; a Master of Science Degree (MSc.) in Telecommunications from the State University of New York: Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor of Science Degree (BSc.) in Hotel Management from the University of the West Indies (UWI). He is also a trained Project Manager and Certified Mediator.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Gittens is recognised for his leadership and motivational skills, with a track record of fostering teamwork and collaboration. He has served as Past President of the Kiwanis Club of Downtown Kingston and as Lieutenant Governor of Kiwanis International, Division 23 East.
