The office of Dr Alfred Dawes, General and Laparoscopic Surgeon and Member of Parliament for South East St Catherine, is advising the public that his name, image, and likeness are being fraudulently used in online advertisements promoting treatments, supplements, and so-called “cures” for diabetes, hypertension, and pain management.
Dr Dawes has no affiliation or endorsement relationship with any company, product, or service offering these treatments or supplements. These unauthorised advertisements appearing on various social media platforms and websites are entirely false and misleading.
“I wish to make it absolutely clear that I have not endorsed, partnered with, or promoted any medical products, supplements, or ‘miracle cures’ online. My professional focus remains on providing legitimate, evidence-based medical care through my registered medical practices,” said Dr Alfred Dawes.
Members of the public are urged to exercise caution and to report any such misleading advertisements directly to the Cyber Crimes Unit of the Jamaica Constabulary Force or to the relevant social media platform for removal.
The use of Dr Dawes’ image and professional reputation in this deceptive manner is a serious matter and may result in legal action against the parties responsible.
