Entertainer Popcaan was also in attendance at the People’s National Party’s 86^th annual conference on Sunday, according to PNP General Secretary Dr Dayton Campbell.

Campbell made certain to highlight this fact in a tweet on X in the wake of Vybz Kartel grabbing the media attention after appearing on stage with his attorney Isat Buchana and Maroon Chief Richard Currie.

“Popcaan was there as well. This is the people’s party,” read Campbell’s tweet accompanied by a photo of the artiste and party bigwig Damion Crawford posing together at a location that doesn’t appear to be the National Arena where the conference was staged.

The post was viewed 40k times, reposted 51 times and copped 405 likes. However, not all comments were favourable.

“All these artists thrive in an unruly Jamaica. The fact the JLP government… imposing discipline on the whole sphere of life in Jamaica is a problem for these people,” read a tweet from Gadman.

Markie British Hidden Trust said the PNP is a “gimmicks party. When u have no real message for the people, you use gimmicks to distract them.”
