Organisers of the Caribbean Infrastructure Forum (CARIF) have confirmed Minister of Finance and the Public Service Dr Nigel Clarke’s participation at the event as the keynote speaker.
CARIF in its eighth year will be held at the Ritz Carlton Coconut Grove in Miami on September 24-25.
Since 2016, the conference has convened regional and global leaders engaged in the planning, financing and construction of infrastructure and capital projects across the Caribbean.
Clarke will detail Jamaica’s development strategy and brief CARIF participants on the island’s ambitious infrastructure program.
According to the organisers of the forum, “CARIF 2024 arrives at a pivotal moment for the Caribbean. The pandemic is in the rearview mirror – although the economic impact lingers. Meanwhile, a rapidly changing climate presents myriad challenges. At CARIF 2024, we’ll gather the spectrum of market participants to explore a multi-sectoral view of opportunities to develop and invest in the resilient and sustainable infrastructure the region needs.”
As part of the event’s agenda, title sponsor KPMG will join Stantec to host a workshop on the Procurement Process for Major Infrastructure Projects. CIBC Caribbean, the other title sponsor, will host a session titled ‘Sustainable Finance and Carbon Trading’.
“We are also excited to announce that the International Finance Corporation (IFC) has joined CARIF as a sponsor, underscoring their commitment to supporting investment in infrastructure in the region. They join a roster of sponsors which includes Stantec and Dentons, and the event co-hosts, CIBC Caribbean and KPMG,” the organisers added.
