Dr Rochelle Bailey’s new poetry book, Beneath the Veins of the Sky will be released by the end of this month.

This book is profoundly personal. It grew from her own experiences of betrayal and violation during childhood, events that reshaped her understanding of love, trust, and the world around her

“Writing this collection was both an act of courage and a form of healing. Each poem is a fragment of my journey through grief, anger, vulnerability, and ultimately toward resilience and hope. This book is important to me because it transforms pain into expression, silences into voice, and struggle into shared understanding,” she shared.

The title, Beneath the Veins of Sky, holds deep significance. It reflects the unseen currents of life that run through us all, the emotions, memories, and resilience that are often hidden beneath the surface. Just as veins carry life invisibly throughout the body, there are forces beneath our outward appearances that shape who we are, how we feel, and how we love.

The sky represents vastness, freedom, and possibility, yet beneath it lies the intricate network of experiences, both beautiful and painful, that define us. The title captures the tension between what is visible and invisible, light and shadow, despair and hope.

This collection is a tapestry of human experience, embracing joy and sorrow, tenderness and heartbreak, love and the courage to keep feeling despite everything. It is a testament to the power of survival and the resilience of the human spirit.

Beneath the Veins of Sky is not merely a book of poetry. It is an intimate journey into the unseen, a witness to the struggles we often hide, and a celebration of the strength it takes to continue living with an open heart. It is a must-read for anyone who has ever faced darkness yet continues to seek the light.
