Dr Tomlin Paul has been appointed as deputy principal of The University of the West Indies, Mona campus, effective August 1, 2023.

In a release issued by the Office of Administration, the university said the transition is part of evolving the leadership structure at the Mona campus.

Dr Paul will succeed Professor Ian Boxill, whose tenure as deputy principal began five years ago on August 1, 2018.

“Dr Paul brings with him a wealth of experience in the areas of health professions’ education, public health, academic programme management, and quality assurance. His dedication to teaching, research, and public service has earned him numerous awards and honours over the years both for himself and for the institutions fortuitous enough to have his counsel,” they wrote in a release.

The announcement follows news that Professor Dale Webber, the current Pro Vice-Chancellor and UWI, Mona principal will resign his post at the end of July.

Principal designate, Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Densil A. Williams, will assume office on August 1.
