Drake shows his Certified Loverboy side by offering to pay off a fan’s late mother’s outstanding mortgage.
At a recent concert in Kansas City, Missouri, Drake not only entertained the crowd with his electrifying performance, but also made a heartfelt promise that left one lucky fan in tears of gratitude. The 37-year-old rap sensation paused his set at the T-Mobile Center to engage with the audience, and what unfolded thereafter was truly touching.
In a video shared on social media, Drake receives a note from a fan in the front row. After reading it aloud, he learns that the fan’s late mother had a lingering mortgage. Drake then pledged to alleviate the financial burden by paying the outstanding balance.

“This is a lot of money right here,” Drake remarked into the mic, acknowledging the significant sum. But his generosity knew no bounds as he assured the fan, “Imma pay off your momma’s house for you,” much to the delight of the cheering crowd.
Despite the fan’s initial request for a US$160,000 donation, Drake insisted on covering the entire expense personally. “That’s gonna come from me,” he declared, emphasising his commitment to honouring the memory of the fan’s mother.
As concertgoers erupted in applause, Drake took a moment to honour the fan’s mother by saying her name, Jennifer Schumer, and expressing his love and respect. The touching gesture showcased Drake’s immense talent, compassion and generosity, leaving an indelible mark on the lucky fan and the audience.
