The organisers of Dream Weekend capitalised on the recent hosting of the Campari-sponsored Dirty Crushh party in Negril to launch the 15th anniversary of the staple calendar event held during Jamaica’s “Emancipendence celebrations.
The Dream Weekend party series is set to take place in Negril, August 2 – 6, and over the five days will have eight events.
Dream Entertainment Ltd Group Managing Director Scott Dunn explained why the team felt it necessary to align with an event such as Dirty Crush in the western parish.

“Negril is home. The promoters of Dirty Crushh and their patrons support Dream Weekend year in, year out, so it’s important for us to return that support. We consider ourselves part of the community and showing up in the community is an important part of our engagement,” Dunn said.
He added: “Dream Weekend is a well-respected brand, so whenever we can use it to strengthen other well-run events we will. We hope it will add credibility to these events from the community, sponsors and patrons.”
Robert Porter, director of Sandcastle Entertainment – the producer of Campari Dirty Crushh – welcomed the endorsement of Dunn, the Dream Weekend team and Campari.

“Having Campari and Dream Weekend on board has really elevated our brand and opened more opportunities to us. It gives us encouragement as it shows that we have been putting in the work, for major brands such as those to align with us,” he stated.
The Sandcastle Entertainment-produced event had its fifthstaging and for the last two years has enjoyed a partnership with Campari and Dream Weekend.
The event had a live performance from rising dancehall star Roze Don, as well as music from top DJs including Bloodline Franco and Brush 1 from Kingston, Heavy D from Chromatic, Macky and Gemini from Negril, and Party Crushaz from Savanna La Mar.

The DJs kept the vibe as they cycled through different genres, pulling on the hits and the usual witty commentary to elicit responses from the crowd.
