No one could have anticipated what 2020 would bring and its impact on the local entertainment industry, certainly not the team at Dream Weekend.
The COVID-19 pandemic has put a pause on party events and live shows with many operators and organisers scurrying to cancel and re-plan as they eagerly await seeing the back of the virus that has swept the world.
Amongst those cancelled events in Jamaica is Dream Weekend 2020.
An annual party fest, Dream Weekend has over the years become a signature attraction for those who know how to party bringing in revellers not only from Jamaica but from abroad.
Marked by high energy and great vibes it showcases Jamaica at its best.

Having to abide by government protocols and be good civic citizens who must put the welfare of the country first before feting, Dream Weekend has drawn the curtain on this year and has announced dates for summer 2021 (August 5-9).
Of course, the pandemic has not subsided, in fact it has become more virulent with more than 320,000 Americans dying from COVID-19 so far.
The hope is by next summer, when vaccines can be generally administered and infections are vastly reduced, we can all come out to party again.
Many Jamaican party promoters have decided that ‘enough is enough and it’s time to get back to our regular routines.’ Though they might feel this way, the safety and health of all Jamaican must be made a priority, not partying. There is always next year.

Dream Weekend has not only issued the prices and locations for party tickets, but also new merchandise, for its return in 2021.
Jamaican dancehall superstars Bounty Killer, Teejay, Stylo G, Shenseea, Ding Dong and Govana have already been confirmed for the event.
