‘Drogba’ charged for possession of prohibited weapon, occassioning bodily harm

The police have charged a 30-year-old Westmoreland native with possession of a prohibited weapon, assault at common law, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm following a shooting incident in
Ricketts River in the parish in September 2023.

He is Tevin Spence, otherwise known as ‘Drogba’ of Juggle Lane, Frome in Westmoreland.

Reports from the Westmoreland Police are that at about 11:00 pm on September 21, 2023, Spence and a man had an argument which developed into a fight.

Spence left the area, and upon his return, he brandished a firearm, pointed it at the man, and threatened to shoot him.

The man reported the incident to the police and Spence was taken into custody on March 4 following an intelligence-led operation in his community.

The charges were subsequently laid against him after warrants were executed on him.

His court date is being finalised.
