Durval Williams appointed GK’s new Chief Audit Executive

GraceKennedy Limited (GK) has announced the appointment of Durval Williams as its new Chief Audit Executive, effective Friday, January 2, 2026.

Williams joins GK with extensive experience in internal audit and risk management across Jamaica’s financial and corporate sectors. Most recently, he served as Chief Internal Auditor at Supreme Ventures Limited. Prior to that, he held senior internal audit leadership roles at Sagicor Group Jamaica and JMMB Group, where he built a strong track record in governance, controls, and enterprise risk oversight.

Williams holds a BSc in Accounting from the University of the West Indies, Mona and an MBA from Georgia Southwestern State University. He is a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Jamaica (FCA), Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Certified General Accountant (CGA), and a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA). He is also an active member of the Rotary Club of New Kingston.

Commenting on the appointment, GK’s Chief Executive Officer, Frank James remarks, “Durval brings deep technical expertise, sound judgement, and a strong appreciation for the role of audit in safeguarding the integrity and sustainability of our business. His experience will be an important asset as GraceKennedy continues to grow and evolve. We are pleased to welcome him to the Group.”

Williams takes over the role of Chief Audit Executive from Judith Chung, who has been acting in the position since April 2025. Chung will resume her prior role as GK’s Group Chief Compliance Officer & Senior Legal Counsel effective January 2, 2026. Jason Bailey, who had temporarily assumed the compliance portfolio from Chung in April, will continue as Head of Risk. On behalf of the Group, James has expressed his appreciation to both Chung and Bailey for their support in the effective management and continuity of the audit, compliance and risk functions during the transition period.
