Netflix has released the first official picture of Eddie Murphy as his iconic character Axel Foley in the much-anticipated fourth instalment of the ‘Beverly Hills Cop‘ series.

The upcoming film is titled Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley. Joining Murphy on this long-awaited reunion are some familiar faces from the original cast. Judge Reinhold, Paul Reiser, and Bronson Pinchot are among those making a return with the mastermind behind the success of the Beverly Hills Cop series, Jerry Bruckheimer, is back in the producer’s seat.

One can’t help but wonder how the character will have evolved in the three decades since he was last on screen in the 80s. Police brutality, abuses of power, corruption and countermeasures against them have shifted the landscape of public discourse and even the nature of crimes now have to factor concerns such as online scammers, and cyber attacks.

Will the movie play heavily into the nostalgia of the the previous films or take a more modern approach?
