EdgeChem Jamaica Limited has been appointed the authorised distributor for Axalta Coating Systems Ltd.’s Cromax Gen automotive refinish system in Jamaica and select Caribbean territories.

The move marks a significant step in bringing advanced, high-performance automotive refinishing technology across the region.

The partnership with Axalta, a global leader in coatings and automotive refinishing solutions, strengthens EdgeChem’s portfolio of premium brands and reinforces its position as a trusted supplier and technical partner to the Caribbean automotive repair industry.

To introduce the system to the market, representatives from Axalta recently joined the EdgeChem team for a series of customer visits and technical engagements across Jamaica. The joint team met with automotive body shops, collision repair centres, and refinishing professionals to demonstrate the capabilities of the Cromax Gen system while gathering direct industry feedback.

The response was overwhelmingly positive, with technicians and business owners highlighting the system’s colour accuracy, productivity gains, and premium finish quality.

As part of the rollout, EdgeChem’s technical and sales teams also completed comprehensive training on the Cromax Gen platform, including practical product application, advanced colour matching techniques, and the use of Axalta’s proprietary colour retrieval software.

A key advantage of the system is its extensive and continuously expanding colour database, which includes formulations for virtually all major OEM manufacturers, as well as a growing library for Chinese vehicle brands. This capability is particularly valuable where colour codes are unavailable, damaged, or difficult to identify, enabling faster, more precise colour matching and improved turnaround times.
