EduFocal Limited, regarded as Jamaica’s leading online learning platform, is establishing subsidiaries in the United States (US) and on the African continent in Nigeria.

EduFocal, which trades under the name LEARN, recently registered EduFocal Inc. in Delaware and EduFocal Nigeria Limited to pursue short and medium term opportunities in Africa, specifically Lagos, Nigeria.

The move comes as the Jamaican registered and junior market listed company seeks to expand its footprint beyond its home territory and exploit growing business opportunities. LEARN has notified the Jamaica Stock Exchange of the formation of the two subsidiaries.

Reorganisation for expansion

Recently the company re-organised its business structure to meet its planned expansion strategy. LEARN has been broken up into four key departments: general administration, finance, product, and operations.

The company is split into two divisions: LEARN and BUSINESS. LEARN focuses on health education and K-12 Education, ranging from PEP preparation to US-focused early childhood teacher support, nurse training and education.

Based on the new structure, Gordon Swaby remains chief executive officer with Kayone Haynes Burke as chief financial officer, Paul Allen as chief technical officer, and Dr. Anna Bethune, who joined the team last year, serving as chief strategy officer.

EduFocal partners with government as well as medium and large businesses, to deliver learning management solutions for their training needs. The Transport Authority, HEART Trust/NTA, and Jamaica Constabulary Force are among its clients.
