Eight shot, four dead in bar shooting in Bethel Town, Westmoreland

Four men have been shot dead and a similar number shot and wounded in a bizarre shooting incident at a bar in New Road, Bethel Town Westmoreland on Monday night.

The dead men have been identified as a 31-year-old tiler, Damion Baker, Odane Scot also called “Moses”;  Rocky Lawrence and a man identified only as “Future”.  

Police sources tell Our Today that at about 10:20 pm patrons were gathered at a bar at New Road, Bethel Town when a Black Field motor car drove up and several armed men alighted with high-powered weapons.

They immediately opened gunfire on the crowd and when the shooting subsided eight men were found suffering from gunshot wounds. All eight were taken to hospital and the four were pronounced dead. 

The four others  Injured are being treated at a hospital. The police say “Future” was seen exiting the vehicle with the men prior to the shooting.

He was shot multiple times including to the back of the head by his cronies. His pockets were searched and live ammunition was found inside. 

The culprits then left in the said Black Toyota Fielder motor car.
