The ISSA Walker Cup continue today with four interesting games as defending champions Mona High take on Hydel High at the Waterhouse Mini-Stadium at 2:00 pm before Kingston College tackle Calabar High in the feature encounter at 4:15 pm.

Over at the Ashenheim Stadium at Jamaica College, Vauxhall High play St Catherine High at 2:00 pm before Charlie Smith take on Tivoli Gardens at 4:15 pm.

The turnaround time between games is short, as on Wednesday, the winner of the Mona/Hydel match will face the winner of the Charlie Smith/Tivoli Gardens encounter. The winner of the KC/Calabar game will meet the winner of the Vauxhall/St Catherine match. The final is set for Friday, December 19.

Mona High will be looking for back-to-back titles. They saw off St George’s College last week, and now, they face a Hydel team that they should be able to see off. Hydel are the 2018 champion.

Multi-time champion Kingston College (KC), with nine titles, are hunting a record 10th when they take on fierce rivals Calabar High, hunting their third title.

The last time the teams met, the game ended 2-2 in a result that knocked KC out of the Manning Cup. Now both are battling again, this time for a spot in the Walker Cup semis.

Vauxhall High are the only team not to have won the Walker Cup, as it’s their first time reaching this far and could upset the more fancied St Catherine High. While the Charlie Smith versus Tivoli Gardens should be a humdinger of a game, as they had some interesting clashes in the first round.
