A 30-year-old electrician was arrested on suspicion of participating in lottery scamming during a raid conducted in Bethel Town, Westmoreland, early this morning.

The special operation took place between 4 a.m. and 8 a.m., which led to the arrest and charge of Oshane Medley, who lives in Cornwall Mountain.

During the search of Medley’s one-bedroom dwelling, the police say they stumbled upon three typed letter-sized sheets containing names, addresses, and telephone numbers of individuals residing overseas, which is often used in lottery scamming. Additionally, an analysis of one of Medley’s cell phones reportedly revealed a significant number of dialled, received, and missed calls on the Textnow call app.

Medley was arrested on suspicion of possessing identity information. He was taken into custody at the Bethel Town Police Station lock-up, pending further investigation.

In the other two raids, no incriminating evidence was discovered upon a thorough search of both dwellings and on-site analysis of the suspects’ cellphones, which led to no charges being brought against the suspects.
