New Twitter boss Elon Musk is calling on all Americans to go out and vote for the Republican Party so that it can control both the House of Representative ands the Senate.
“Shared power curbs the worst excesses of both parties, therefore I recommend voting for the Republican Congress, given that the Presidency is Democratic,” Musk tweeted to his 110 million followers.
Many commentators and pollsters are predicting a “red wall” with Democrats being wiped out as Americans become increasingly disgruntled with high inflation and crime overwhelming many cities.
Musk is making it clear that he is not by all means a die hard Republican, saying, “I’m open to the idea of voting Democrat again in the future.”
He has balked at the Democrats imposing high tax rates on billionaires and giving tax incentives to unions who operate in the electric vehicle business.

Twitter, Musk says, must be a platform for free speech and commentary and he is determined to monetise it. It has been suggested that a paywall be instituted. He also added that Twitter should be politically neutral.
Usually, social media company owners do not openly endorse a political party.
“It’s unprecedented to have a CEO come straight out and say that. Many others have done donations, so you know what their leanings are. But it’s rare to see them actually tell people who they should go vote for,” said former Meta senior executive Katie Harbarth.
Musk noted: “Hardcore Democrats or Republicans never vote for the other side, so independent voters are the ones who actually decide who’s in charge.”
