After eight seasons, Warner Bros. Unscripted Television has ended the run of Emmy award-winning daytime TV show The Real.

Created by SallyAnn Salsano, The Real premiered in 2013, quickly setting itself apart from other daytime talk shows, by using hosts who reflected the home audience and “unapologetically say what women are actually thinking”.

The original hosts included actress Tamera Mowry, stylist Jeannie Mai, singer Tamar Braxton and comedian Loni Love.

According to the shows official description, the hosts were chosen because they were “all going through varied life experiences, including new motherhood, new marriages, dating or singledom, that relate to every woman’s own trials and tribulations”.

The show’s current eighth season will be its last, however, a final airdate has yet to be announced.

The Real was produced by Telepictures and distributed by Warner Bros., and was their longest-running daytime syndicated talk show behind Ellen and Jenny Jones.

The series has won three Daytime Emmy Awards and two NAACP Image Awards.
