Jamaica international Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw has become Manchester City’s highest-scoring women’s player across a single season.

The Reggae Girl secured two goals in Man City’s 2-1 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion today (March 12), taking her tally to 26 goals in 22 games.

The record had previously been held by Nikita Parris, who struck 24 goals during the 2018-2019 campaign when City claimed a domestic cup double.

Third on the list is Pauline Bremer who scored 22 in 2019-2020 while Lauren Hemp is fourth with 21 in 2021-2022.

With her record goal scoring season, Shaw is now on course to claim the FA Women’s Super League (WSL) golden boot.

Her 26 goals in 22 matches puts her at an average of 1.18 per game.

In 2023 alone she has grabbed two hat-tricks, while also striking four times in an 8-1 FA Cup win over Bristol City in February.

Her overall tally for the Club stands at 45 goals in 51 appearances, at an average of 0.88 per game.
