With a total purse of US$125,000, Supreme Ventures Racing and Entertainment Limited (SVREL) has indicated that the highly anticipated Mouttet Mile Invitational is now open for entries.
The purse for the December 3 race is the largest purse for a single event offered at Caymanas Park.
The maximum number of 16 starting stalls will be made available for the Mouttet Mile.
Twelve positions will be reserved for horses domiciled in Jamaica since January 1, 2022 and four positions for horses not domiciled in Jamaica since January 1, 2022.
LETTER OF INTENT REQUIRED
SVREL Chairman Solomon Sharpe detailed the process for owners and trainers of overseas based horses to enter their charges into the purse rich race.
“To secure your horse’s position in the Mouttet Mile, owners and trainers must provide a letter of intent to the Racing Secretary no later than September 30, 2022. The past performance of the horse should also
be included in that submission. Selections will be made based on the highest earnings (USD) since January 1, 2022.”

There will be a standard fee of J$80,000 for all horses, whether native bred or imported, to enter the 1600-metre invitational. The first tranche of J$10,000 is to be paid by November 17 and the balance of J$70,000 to be paid by November 26. Native-bred refers to horses foaled in Jamaica, Barbados, and Trinidad & Tobago while imported refers to horses not foaled in Jamaica, Barbados, and Trinidad & Tobago.
Entries for the race will close on November 28.
Punters and patrons who turn out for the historic Mouttett Mile will be treated to a full day of stellar entertainment both on the track and in the infield.
“Along with the historic Mouttet Mile, we are curating an ultra-premium experience on the infield, in the stands, and across Caymanas Park.”
Solomon Sharpe, chairman of Supreme Ventures Racing and Entertainment Limited
Sharpe was enthusiastic about what he indicates will be an ultra-premium experience at the Park.
“Along with the historic Mouttet Mile, we are curating an ultra-premium experience on the infield, in the stands, and across Caymanas Park. Fans can expect an unmatched experience at the Park come December 3. We are also looking at carrying that excitement though to our online and at the off-track betting platforms.”
The Mouttet Mile Invitational takes its name from main sponsor Paul Mouttet, chairman of the Trinidad and Tobago-based Zodiac Caribbean Ventures Limited, currently the largest shareholder of SVREL’s mother company, Supreme Ventures Limited (SVL).
