Fans and supporters of Wendy Williams are set to stage demonstrations in New York City and Los Angeles on Tuesday, April 1 calling for an end to her court-ordered guardianship.
The ‘#FreeWendy’ movement, launched in 2022, has been advocating for Williams’ release from legal oversight. Williams remains in a restricted memory care unit under guardian Sabrina Morrissey, with Judge Lisa Sokoloff overseeing her case.
Protesters in New York will gather at Coterie Hudson Yards at 10 am (EST), while Los Angeles demonstrators will meet at Williams’ Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 10 a.m. (PST).
Organisers encourage attendees to wear ‘Free Wendy’ merchandise and sign petitions in support of the former talk show host.
Advocates argue that Williams should regain control of her affairs, with the rallies hoping to bring renewed attention to her legal battle.
