Bringing unmatched fashion and flair to the streets of downtown Kingston under the theme ‘Fashion Ova Style‘ is the artistic collaboration between Saint International models and Kingston Creative today (July 28).

The festivities will commence with a ‘Discover Downtown’ tour departing from the Artwalk Festival at Church Street.

The Artwalk promises bus tours, artisanal works at the Artisan Village, Saint International Runway show, crochet classes, competitive domino matches, paint and sip sessions, and a high-energy live performance by Kalyra and Blaze Shell Shell to conclude the event.

“Fashion Ova Style celebrates creativity, culture, and community. This year’s fashion showcase aims to spotlight the local fashion scene, and we eagerly anticipate discovering new talents from the Faces of Summer Model Search. We want patrons to witness and appreciate the incredible talent of Jamaican designers and models,” said director of Kingston Creative, Andrea Dempster Chung.

Fashion Ova Style is set to launch the Faces of Summer Model Search, with SAINT chief executive Deiwght Peters leading the search for the next top face of SAINT. Aspiring models are invited to attend the Artwalk Festival at the F&B Downtown Parking Lot on Water Lane, dressed in blue jeans and a white T-shirt. Participants will be evaluated and trained by top models. Entry into the model search is free, and winners will receive contracts with Saint International and the opportunity to participate in a fashion show alongside professional Saint International models.

“The model search which precedes the runway fashion event is another exciting activation for us. Our execution is inspired by the SAINT tagline ‘Changing Lives, Expanding Horizons’, a reality for many young people from Downtown and its environs. Many SAINT star models have come from places like Denham Town, Allman Town, and Trench Town, so this is paramount in our decision to collaborate. I am expecting many stars from the surrounding communities to roll out to meet me and my scouting team. The exceptional ambition of Kingston Creative for Downtown is also aligned with the strategic imperatives of SAINT in highlighting Kingston as a dynamic cultural mecca through our events such as Style Week Jamaica and the blockbuster Fashion Block,” said Peters.
