The Jamaica Pegasus Gardens has been selected to stage an unforgettable celebration of music and purpose by hosting Festival of Jazz in the Gardens: The Best of 2024 on Sunday, December 29.

With a showcase of the finest cabaret singers and musical talent that Jamaica has to offer, this annual event will have a star-studded lineup featuring Tammy T’s spellbinding vocals, the iconic melodies of Fab 5, Everton Pessoa and his Big Band’s soulful brilliance, Soulchild Tanice’s velvety tones, and Gem Myers’s dynamic artistry.

According to the organisers, “The Festival of Jazz in the Gardens promises a unique blend of R&B classics from the 50s to the 70s, intertwined with Jamaica’s legendary ska, mento, rocksteady, and reggae beats. This celebration of the island’s rich musical heritage delivers an eclectic mix that will resonate with every generation.”

Empowering Women, Changing Lives

As jazz lovers and supporters revel in an evening of outstanding performances, they will be supporting a transformative cause as the event organisers, in a bid to champion women’s empowerment, have partnered with the Women’s Centre of Jamaica Foundation, which will receive part of the proceeds.

The Women’s Centre of Jamaica Foundation is an organisation dedicated to uplifting adolescent mothers. The centre provides young women with the resources needed to build brighter, independent futures through education, life skills training, and vocational opportunities.

“Music has the power to unite and transform,” Shikima Hinds who leads the organisation of the event expressed.
