Fifth Oracabessa lock-up escapee recaptured

A fifth prisoner, who escaped from the Oracabessa Police Station in St Mary in December, has been recaptured.

Twenty-six-year-old Phillip Williams was apprehended by police officers from the St Mary Police Division on Tuesday, March 26.

Williams, also known as ‘Boe’, from Belfield, St Mary, was facing charges of shooting with intent.

Reports are that around 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., a targeted operation was conducted in the Guava Road area of Belfield. He was discovered sleeping beneath a house during the operation.

He was recaptured and taken into custody.

Williams, along with seven other prisoners, utilised a hacksaw blade to create an opening in the metal ventilation system of the lock-up and flee around 6 a.m.

Still on the run are: 21-year-old Nolando Akenson, of Pimento Walk, St Ann and Boscobel, St Mary, who is charged with robbery; and 28-year-old Gaveen Hurd, of Stony Hill, St Andrew and Enfield, St Mary, who is charged with murder.

The police are reminding citizens that it is an offence to harbour a fugitive and persons with
information that can assist in locating them are being encouraged to contact the Oracabessa police
at 876-726-0698, Crime Stop at 311, the JCF tip line at 811, or the nearest police station.
