Beloved journalist Barbara Gayle was laid to rest on Sunday amid tears and remembrance for a soul that touched many in such a positive way.
On hand for the Thanksgiving service at the Kencot Seventh-day Adventist Church in St Andrew were members of the media fraternity; legal luminaries, who Barbara covered for years at the Gleaner such as DPP Paula Llewellyn, KC; and political figures among them former journalist and now senator, Abka Fitz-Henley.
Barbara was fondly remembered at the service and attendees could hardly keep a dry eye.
If only tears could resurrect the dead.
Barbara, who was born on May 31, 1947, was tragically killed at her Portmore, St Catherine home on December 16, 2024, by a person who then stole her car.
