
The Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries is urging fishers on the cays and banks to exercise caution due to dangerous sea conditions associated with Tropical Storm Lisa.
An advisory from the Meteorological Service of Jamaica, a Tropical Storm Watch remains in effect for Jamaica as Lisa continues to move south of the island.
Tropical Storm Lisa is the 12th Storm of the 2022 Atlantic hurricane season.
In a statement today (October 31), the ministry also urged all fishers to “remain alert while you protect your lives and livelihood”.

Lisa is moving towards the west near 22 km/h (14mph) and a westward to west- northwestward motion is expected over the next few days.
Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 75 kmh (45mph) and are also expected to slowly strengthen as Lisa is expected to become a hurricane by Wednesday.
The weather forecast indicates that the centre of Tropical Storm Lisa will continue moving south of Jamaica today and the south of The Cayman Islands tomorrow before approaching Central America on Wednesday.
The Met Service will continue to monitor the progress of the storm and provide updates.
