
Dr Trisha Bailey is a Jamaica-born entrepreneur and is known as one of the most influential black women in the United States.
The philanthropist recently made headlines when she contributed the largest cash donation in the history of the University of Connecticut, her alma mater.
Bailey made her fortune chiefly in the medical equipment industry before expanding into domestic and international commercial real estate.

Her company, Bailey’s Medical Equipment and Supplies, now includes Bailey’s Pharmacies, which has operations in Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, and Texas.
Bailey embraces her Jamaican culture, especially ackee and saltfish which, by the way, is her favourite Jamaican dish.

Bailey says her greatest accomplishment is creating an organisation and business that touches millions of disabled and elderly people across the country, eliminating invisible barriers for those in need.

‘Give a man a fish, he eats for the day. Teach a man to fish, he can eat for a lifetime‘. She told Our Today that she considers this quote her favourite because she enjoys helping people find a way to achieve their success.

Most individuals have a favourite movie of all time, but Bailey doesn’t have one. She has three actually – Coming to America, Cool Runnings, and The Woman King are her all-time favourite movies.

The last book Dr Bailey read was The Other Side of A Mirror. She says loved the details and climax of the story, while describing it as a true page turner that leaves you at the edge of your seat.
