Five things to know about Press Secretary Naomi Francis

Public figure Naomi Francis continues to execute her role as press secretary in the Office of the Prime Minister in a most admirable fashion.

Francis is an experienced communication specialist who has been in the media space for more than 20 years.

With her experience and love for communication, Francis inevitably became an educator in the field. Her skills have allowed her to branch out into training individuals in communication, media and speech.

The media practitioner is also a trained mediator and justice of the peace for the parish of St Andrew.

Here are five things you might not have known about Naomi Francis.

1. Adventurous at heart

A lover of nature, Naomi enjoys trips to the beach and mountain hikes. She loves to visit Portland because of the many beaches and lush sceneries that are a part of the environment.

2. She is a proud Virgo!

Any Virgos in the house? Naomi recently celebrated her birthday on August 25, making her a Virgo, which she dubs the best Zodiac season.

Naomi is a proud mother; she considers being a mother her greatest assignment.

Naomi’s sayings and quotes change based on the season. Therefore, she has several she is fond of.

“Wah a fi yu cyaa be unfiyu”

“Fi yu time will come”

Here’s a bonus. Her favourite word is ‘amazing’ or ‘hmmmmm’, depending on when you ask.

5. Media practitioner since high school

Naomi is a past student of St Hugh’s High School. While attending St Hugh’s, she became the host of the popular 90s teen television programme Rappin’, which allowed her to travel to high schools across Jamaica and interview students, highlighting some of the concerns they faced at the time.
