Flow has expanded access to its 5G mobile network to prepaid customers, marking the latest phase of the company’s ongoing investment in delivering faster mobile connectivity across Jamaica.

Flow customers who subscribe to 7-day or higher prepaid plans will now benefit from improved mobile performance, faster data speeds, clearer calls and a more responsive experience when browsing, streaming, communicating and using digital services. The expansion follows Flow’s introduction of 5G in June for postpaid and business mobile customers, marking a watershed moment for the country’s technological advancement.

With the network now available to approximately 90 per cent of Flow’s customer base, Stephen Price, Vice President and General Manager of Flow, said extending the service to prepaid customers on the company’s most popular and heavily utilised data value plans forms part of the company’s wider commitment to giving customers access to the best possible network experience.

“Expanding 5G access to our prepaid customers is another important step in ensuring that more Jamaicans can benefit from the improvements we continue to make across our mobile network,” said Price.

He added: “We are focused on delivering stronger connectivity and performance as our customers use their devices throughout the day. Our commitment is to keep investing in the technology, coverage and service improvements that help our customers stay connected with confidence.”

Flow’s 5G mobile network is designed to deliver lower latency and improved responsiveness, allowing supported devices to communicate with the network more quickly. For customers, this can result in improved video calls, faster downloads, improved streaming and gaming, and stronger performance when using applications that require a reliable data connection.

To fully benefit from the enhanced network experience, Flow is encouraging customers to become “5G Ready” by ensuring they have both a compatible 5G-enabled device and a SIM card capable of supporting 5G and VoLTE services.

Flow says it is encouraging eligible customers to check they are on the 5G network by looking for the 5G network symbol at the top of their screen.

Customers may also check the status of their SIM card by dialling *555# from any Flow mobile device. To support the transition, Flow is currently offering complimentary SIM card replacements at its retail locations islandwide, along with competitively priced 5G-enabled devices and flexible payment options designed to make upgrading more accessible and affordable.
