The children of Brooke Avenue in Duhaney Park, St Andrew, got a welcomed boost ahead of the new school year, thanks to a back-to-school treat hosted by digital influencer, Keticia “TC” Chatman, and supported by telecommunications provider Flow.

The host beamed with pride as she oversaw the day’s activities which included games, and lots of giveaways sponsored by Flow and other sponsors.

Chatman, who is a talented actress, dancer, businesswoman, and digital influencer, said she has always maintained a strong connection to her roots in Brooke Avenue, her childhood community in which she was moulded. As such, this event, for her, was about more than just giving back; it was about inspiring the next generation to overcome challenges and pursue their dreams.

“It means the world to me to come back to where it all started and give back to the children who are growing up in the same place that shaped me. I hope to inspire them to dream big and work hard,” Chatman expressed.

This is the second time the influencer, who has partnered on several Flow campaigns, has hosted the back-to-school treat, which will now become an annual event. Close to 200 families in the community were impacted.

For Flow, the partnership represented another opportunity to help ease the burden on families in preparation for the start of the schoolyear. As part of its sponsorship, Flow distributed bags filled with essential school supplies including book vouchers, notebooks, pencils, and accessories.

“These supplies are intended to help ease the financial burden on families as they prepare for the new academic year, ensuring that the children of Brooke Avenue have a head start to succeed in their studies and make every day better,” Latoy Lawrence, Flow’s head of marketing, shared.
