Flow transformed its flagship store at 47 Half-Way-Tree Road into a celebration zone last Friday, as it marked its verification by Ookla as Jamaica’s Fastest Mobile Network. Ookla is an independent body and is a leader in global telecommunications intelligence.
But rather than simply announce the milestone, the company chose to demonstrate it.
More than 100 customers walked away with complimentary smartphones and data plans during the public launch event—a deliberate move by Flow to remove barriers and allow Jamaicans to directly experience the speed and performance of its upgraded network.
From the early hours of the morning, customers lined Half-Way Tree Road in anticipation. At the front of the line was Vaughn Armstrong, who arrived before 3:00 a.m. to secure his place.

“I’ve been a Flow customer for more than 10 years, and I wasn’t missing this,” Vaughn said. “I made sure to come out early, get my spot in the line, and it was all worth it.”
In recognition of his loyalty and being first in line, Vaughn received a Samsung S25+ upgrade, a pleasant and welcome surprise for him.
Flow’s General Manager and Vice President, Stephen Price, stated: “This was about putting devices in people’s hands and inviting them to test the performance for themselves. Our team worked tirelessly to build this network, and we’re proud to share it with Jamaica.”
While celebrating its performance recognition, Flow used the day to treat its customers—current and new ones. Kandice Lecky, a Flow postpaid customer whose phone was recently damaged, was pleasantly surprised when she was randomly selected for a complimentary Samsung S25 upgrade. The unexpected gesture turned what had been a frustrating process of using her phone into a pleasant digital experience.
The event also drew a mix of loyal customers and curious switchers eager to experience Flow’s upgraded mobile network firsthand. Vaughn, who led the line from 3:00 a.m., brought along a friend specifically to switch to Flow, while several others came ready to make the move, attracted by the promise of Jamaica’s fastest network and competitively priced plans. Every participant received a free SIM and a 28-day plan, ensuring they could immediately test the network’s performance. Some customers even chose to gift their new devices to family members, extending the experience of Flow’s enhanced connectivity beyond the store and into their homes.

During the celebration, Flow turned the spotlight on the backbone of its success—its mobile network operators and technicians. The company paid tribute to the team that built and maintains the infrastructure behind the award, sharing stories of their work and their character.
Price described the technicians as the “MVPs” of the organisation.
“They are the ones climbing towers, restoring service in difficult conditions, and ensuring communities stay connected,” he said. “Their expertise, discipline and commitment are what made this achievement possible. This recognition belongs to them.”
Looking ahead, Price confirmed that Flow’s expansion continues in 2026, with approximately 60 new cell sites planned and ongoing optimisation work to improve capacity and reliability across the island.
Flow added that its investment strategy is designed to meet Jamaica’s growing appetite for data, digital services and business connectivity.
