Flow Jamaica has kicked off Mission Week 2023, an annual initiative aiming to create lasting positive change within communities.
Mission Week spans over 20 Latin America and Caribbean countries, primarily focusing on learning, volunteerism, and expanding connectivity in line with its corporate social responsibility pillars: Learning, Environment, Access, and Disaster Relief (LEAD).

Stephen Price, Flow’s VP & general manager and chairman of the Flow Foundation, said: “We believe in the transformative power of community engagement, and Mission Week is our way of creating a positive impact by combining learning opportunities, volunteerism, and initiatives to enhance connectivity across several communities. We aim to leave a lasting legacy in various communities across the island.”
Volunteerism is deeply ingrained in the LLA culture, with passionate and dedicated employees committed to making meaningful contributions to the communities where they live and work.
The week-long series of events is set to encompass a diverse range of activities designed to promote learning and enhance connectivity. Flow’s Mission Week staff volunteers began their journey with school-based assessment workshops at St Andrew Technical High School on November 13, followed by sessions at Spot Valley High in Montego Bay, St. James on November 14, and Pembroke Hall High in Kingston on November 15.

A significant collaboration with the Office of the Children’s Advocate is on the agenda for November 16, where a ‘Connected and Protected’ talk is scheduled for students and staff at Foga Road High School in Clarendon. The final day, November 17, will see Flow’s staff volunteers conducting a job preparation session with students in the School of Computing at the Mandeville-based Northern Caribbean University.
In addition to these educational initiatives, broadband access will be extended to a ward at Belleview Hospital in Kingston on November 15, and the Cross Keys Community Centre in Manchester on November 17.
As a prelude to Mission Week 2023, on October 6, Flow Mission volunteers joined forces with the Marie Atkins Shelter to feed several homeless individuals in downtown Kingston, exemplifying their commitment to community welfare.
