In response to the widespread devastation caused by Hurricane Melissa, Fontana Pharmacy, through the Fontana Foundation, has partnered with Amber FundMe, Jamaica’s home-grown crowdfunding platform powered by the Amber Group, to launch a fundraising initiative aimed at the Jamaican diaspora to support affected communities across the island.

As many Jamaicans at home and abroad have reached out asking how they can contribute to relief efforts, this partnership provides a trusted, transparent, and technology-driven channel to contribute directly to relief and rebuilding efforts.

Amber FundMe, developed by Amber Innovations, is the same crowdfunding engine that powers the Government of Jamaica’s official relief website, SupportJamaica.gov.jm, launched immediately after Hurricane Melissa to coordinate national donations and disaster response.

Over the years, Amber FundMe has powered numerous successful campaigns for leading organisations across the Caribbean. Its secure, reliable payment engine and support for local payment methods make it both trusted and accessible—enabling anyone, anywhere, to contribute safely to causes that make a difference.

Through this initiative, for every dollar donated, Fontana Pharmacy will match the donation up to $5 million JMD, with the goal of raising a total of $10 million JMD under the fund.

The Fontana Foundation, a registered charity under the Charities Act of Jamaica, continues to play an active role in post-hurricane recovery. To date, Fontana has hand-delivered more than 800 care packages to families in urgent need of relief. Each package includes essential food, water, personal care, and clothing items. Historically, the Foundation has focused on supporting educational initiatives, including scholarships at UTECH and UWI, as well as other programs aimed at advancing learning and development.

While the company continues its outreach across sections of St James, Westmoreland, and Manchester, many members of the diaspora have expressed their willingness to partner with the reputable brand to deliver much-needed resources to affected communities. The need remains immense, as thousands of families have lost their homes, belongings, and access to basic necessities, and this initiative allows Fontana to do even more.

Your donation will help expand these efforts, not only by providing immediate supplies but also by contributing to rebuilding Jamaica and restoring stability for families who have been severely impacted through a number of ongoing recovery activities.
