Food For The Poor Jamaica (FFTP Jamaica) has appointed Denise Cagley-Jefferson as its new Executive Director, effective April 1, 2026.
Cagley-Jefferson brings over 20 years of experience in the international nonprofit sector, with a strong track record in donor engagement, programme leadership and organisational management. Her work has consistently focused on strengthening communities and advancing sustainable, people-centred development.
A long-standing partner of Jamaica, she founded the Blue Mountain Project in 2004 and has remained closely engaged as a board member. This deep and sustained connection to the island has fostered strong relationships with local stakeholders and a clear understanding of Jamaica’s social development priorities.
Described as a collaborative and solutions-oriented leader, she is recognised for strategic thinking, accountability, and a hands-on leadership approach. International experience across diverse cultural settings further supports her ability to lead with sensitivity, respect, and a strong commitment to local partnerships.
FFTP Jamaica is confident that this appointment will strengthen the organisation’s operational excellence, deepen donor and partner relationships, and further advance sustainable, mission-aligned programmes that support vulnerable communities across Jamaica.
