A former personal chef for Patriots star Stefon Diggs has accused the wide receiver of assaulting her during a dispute over pay, according to details contained in a recently released police incident report.
The woman told officers she went to police on Dec. 16, saying the incident happened two weeks earlier while she was working at Diggs’ home. She said Diggs entered her unlocked bedroom on December 2 to confront her about a string of text messages related to money she believed she was still owed.
According to her account, the conversation quickly escalated. She claimed Diggs became angry and struck her across the face. When she tried to push him away, she said he moved behind her and wrapped his arm around her neck, restricting her breathing. She told police she felt dizzy and feared she might lose consciousness. When she attempted to break free, she said the pressure increased.
The woman alleged Diggs then threw her onto the bed before leaving the room. She said she continued trying to explain that she had not been paid, but he dismissed her claims and walked away.
When asked about injuries, the woman told officers she noticed redness on her upper chest but did not photograph it. She also said she was reluctant to report the incident right away because of Diggs’ status as a high profile NFL player.
The chef said she began working for Diggs in July and was expected to remain employed throughout the 2025 season. She claimed her pay schedule was changed from weekly to monthly and that she had not received a full month’s wages at the time of the incident.
She also told police Diggs refused to pay her for one week in November, arguing her services were not needed. She disputed that explanation, saying she had not requested time off and should still have been paid.
After Dec. 2, the woman said she no longer worked for Diggs. When she returned days later to retrieve her belongings, she said Diggs instructed her via text to resolve the issue through his assistant. She claimed the assistant later offered payment only if she agreed to sign a non-disclosure agreement, which she declined.
Police said the woman provided text messages that supported her account of the pay dispute. She later returned to police on Dec. 20 and reported receiving calls and messages from a woman she believed to be Diggs’ girlfriend, urging her not to escalate the situation. This led her to believe others were aware she had contacted authorities. The report does not identify the caller as Cardi B.
Investigators attempted to reach Diggs directly but were unable to make contact. On December 23, police received an email from the woman stating she wanted to proceed with charges.
On Tuesday, authorities announced Diggs had been charged with felony strangulation or suffocation and misdemeanor assault and battery.
Diggs’ attorney, David Meier, released a statement denying the allegations, calling them unsupported and claiming they were never properly investigated because the incident did not happen. The statement argues the accusations stem from a financial disagreement between employer and employee and says Diggs plans to clear his name in court.
