Jamaican broadcaster Henry ‘Busha’ Stennett, known as one Radio Jamaica’s leading voices until just over a decade ago, has died.
Stennett, who had reportedly been ailing for sometime, was recalled by RJRGLEANER Communications Group CEO Gary Allen as a “household name” and “a loved personality on Radio Jamaica for many years”.
Reacting on Twitter, public relations executive Jean Lowrie Chin said: “His rich voice and gentle manner will always remain with us. He was a wonderful Reader at Stella Maris. May his Soul Rest in Peace.”
Stennett served as an executive producer at Radio Jamaica (formerly RJR 94FM) up to March 2006 when he resigned, after decades on air.
During his time at RJR, he was noted particularly for his work on the Evening People Show as well as his news presentation.
He also delivered morning traffic reports, particularly from the small helicopter used to traverse the city during the rush hour period and known as the ‘Wise Eye’.
