Fortinet, a global leader in broad, integrated, and automated cybersecurity solutions, this week announced the launch of the Fortinet Xperts community for Latin America and the Caribbean.
The community is a forum for cybersecurity professionals to stay up to date on key topics and also to exchange experiences, make inquiries, comment, and discuss around solutions offered by the company.
Fortinet Xperts for Latin America and the Caribbean is an open technical forum within the Fortinet User Community, with posts in Portuguese, Spanish, and English. A global resource for anyone to participate in online conversations, share and gain knowledge, and interact with other users, whether they have a Fortinet solution or not.
“Our purpose is to promote a message channel aimed at building a great community of collaboration among professionals in the region, where a single response positively affects many professionals,” said Marcelo Mayorga, vice president, sales engineering at Fortinet Latin America and the Caribbean.
“We are the company with the largest number of cybersecurity devices installed in Latin America and the Caribbean, and our solutions help companies of all sizes, as well as governments and telecommunications operators. That is why we want to offer professionals in the sector space to collect and share valuable data and experiences.”
To participate, just log in and sign up. Once inside the community, search for Fortinet Xperts (LATAM and the Caribbean) under ‘Special Interest Groups’. Then just start interacting, reply to an existing post, or create a new discussion topic.
“Everyone is welcome to comment and discuss problems and solutions in a constructive way,” added Mayorga.
“In this way, we increase access to information regarding the market and our products, and we also receive important comments from professionals in the sector, always intending to improve our value proposition. The invitation to be part of this community is open to the entire ecosystem of technical professionals, from Fortinet clients and partners to professionals in general.”

Continuous training in cybersecurity

In addition to launching this new professional community, Fortinet is strongly committed to ongoing training. In an environment where threats are increasingly sophisticated and cybercriminals have the most advanced technologies, training cybersecurity professionals is essential. To that end, Fortinet made over 30 cybersecurity training courses available for free that cover topics ranging from Secure SD-WAN to Operational Technology (OT) security and cloud security. With more than 800,000 registrations to date, the Fortinet Network Security Expert (NSE) program meets the enormous need for security professionals of all levels of expertise.
