The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) has announced the promotion of 45 officers to the rank of superintendent.

“This achievement is a testament to their hard work, dedication, and commitment to serving and protecting the citizens of Jamaica,” the JCF said. “These promotions are part of the JCF’s ongoing transformation efforts, aimed at strengthening leadership to drive crime reduction initiatives across the country.”

Notably, the JCF has reported continued progress in reducing violent crime, with a 42% reduction in murders as of August 27, 2025, compared to the same period last year.

The JCF said the promotions are a “historic achievement”, marking the largest cohort of superintendents to be promoted in the history of the JCF, and represents a significant boost to the force’s leadership.

Dr Kevin Blake, commissioner of police, said: “We extend heartfelt congratulations to the 45 newly promoted superintendents. Your promotion is a testament to your individual achievement and the JCF’s commitment to developing strong leaders who can drive positive change and improve public safety.”

The JCF remains committed to developing its personnel and building a modern, responsive, and effective police force that serves and protects the citizens of Jamaica.

“We congratulate the 45 newly promoted Superintendents and look forward to their continued contributions to the JCF’s mission,” the Police High Command said.
