Four suspects were set to face charges in federal court in Miami today (February 1) in connection with the assassination of Haitian President Jovenel Moise in July 2021.

According to reports, the men were transferred from Haiti on Tuesday (January 31) to face criminal charges in the US.

Three of the men who have allegedly conspired to commit murder are Haitian-American dual citizens James Solages, 37 and Joseph Vincent, 57, as well as Colombian citizen German Alejandro Rivera Garcia, 44.

The fourth suspect is Haitian American Christian Sanon, 54, who allegedly smuggled ballistic vests from the US into Haiti to aid in the assassination of the president.

The four suspects set to face charges in the US will be an addition to three men who have already been charged by the US Justice Department in connection with the assassination in 2021.

Moise was murdered in his home in Haiti’s capital, Port-au-Prince on July 7, 2021.
