Spurs 1 -West Ham 2
Tottenham Hotspur again lost at home today, this time to relegation-battling West Ham coached by former Spurs boss, Nuno Espírito Santo.
Soccer pundit Tim Sherwood who is also a former Spurs head coach, described this game as “ El Sackico,” whoever loses would get the sack, with West Ham in 18th position and Spurs in 14th position in the EPL. Frank has won just one game in the Spurs’ last seven matches.
One can see why Sherwood came to that conclusion.

Spurs have racked up 8 losses in 13 games in all competitions and no wins so far in 2026. West Ham were on a 10-game winless run in the EPL and are in a relegation dog fight.
Its turned out to be West Ham’s first win against Spurs in the EPL since December 2023 with Crysencio Summerville opening the scoring for West Ham. Cristian Romero equalised for Spurs before Callum Wilson secured the win for West Ham in stoppage time.
This was a good win for Nuno Espírito Santo and buys him more time.

Frank’s approach is too ambiguous and has not yielded success. His midfield players are unable to get the ball to the attackers and there doesn’t appear to be a spine in his team. Spurs’ goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario is a liability and is too error-prone. How Spurs miss the safety and security of Hugo Lloris.
After sacking Ange Postecoglou, it was thought that Thomas Frank was the right choice given the job he did at Brentford, but he is clearly out of his depth. Spurs, at 15th in the EPL may well be drawn into a relegation tussle, which puts its huge investment in its modern stadium on the line.
Losing is a habit and the stench of it cloaks Spurs. Every week, Frank says fans must be patient and that he will take the team out of the doldrums, but every week Spurs continue to lose. Their season is already a shambles, and to ensure survival, it must now change its approach.

Better to get rid of Frank now and install an interim coach until the end of the season rather like what Manchester United have done with Michael Carrick. The bosses upstairs must be bold and forget about the 8 million pound price tag to get rid of Frank; it will cost them far more in the long run if they remain on the current path. Efforts must be made to salvage the season now. There is no longer time to wait and see whether Frank has what it takes to turn things around. Mourinho, Conte and Postecoglou were not given time. What makes Frank so special?
Conor Gallagher was bought from Atletico Madrid and made his debut for Spurs against West Ham. He was ineffective this afternoon, giving away possession 14 times while West Ham got off 13 shots on goal.
Lack of focus and defensive frailties again cost Spurs today.
After the match, Thomas Frank ruefully surmised: “ It seems like we’re seen that before- against Bournemouth, where we do very wellin the second half, get the equaliser and pushing for the winner, on top of the game, having chances, not getting over the line and then switching off in the last moment of the game.
“I think we started well the first 15 minutes, then we go 1-0 down. After that, I felt we rushed it too much, we gave the ball way too much in the first half.
“Of course, super disappointed that we lost in the last minute of the game. If we can’t win, we need to get the draw.”
