Dancehall vixen Shenseea has not slowed down in her United States blitz as she recently earned her very first MTV VMA nom.
The Jamaican artiste, who last year released her debut album, ALPHA, was nominated in the category of Push Performance of the Year.
Taking to her Instagram account to share the news, Shenseea noted that the award came as a surprise.
“From watching the @vmas to being a NOMINEE 🥺 Wow, so unexpected,” she began.
The dancehall artiste continued, urging fans to place their votes.
“Make sure you guys vote for me…PUSH PERFORMANCE OF THE YEAR category 🐉 link in snap,” she said.
Shenseea is among the 10 performers nominated in this category. Other nominees include – Griff, Remi Wolf, Nessa Barrett, Seventeen, Mae Muller, GAYLE, Omar Apollo, Wet Leg, Muni Long, Doechii.
On March 2 of this year, the artiste made an appearance on MTV’s Push. Clad in a skintight body suit and black calf high heels, the artiste performed ALPHA tracks, Lick which features American rapper, Meghan Thee Stallion and R U That, which features US-based rapper, 21 Savage.
No stranger to the MTV VMA stage, Shenseea, who in March of this year was named Push Performer of the Month, presented the first Pepsi Mic Drop Award to Glass Animals for the VMA’s 2021 staging.
Since her big break in 2016, the 25-year-old has not let up, having recently been featured on Calvin Harris’ Obsessed, Fireboy DML’s Diana and collaborating with Skillibeng on Rain.
