

A week after being turned down for a car loan, photographer Andrae Pennant took a taxi for the last time when he turned up in Mandeville to collect a brand new 2023 Hyundai Tucson SUV, courtesy of Digicel.
Pennant is the second of four winners in the Digicel ‘4 Cars in 4 Weeks’ summer promotion. The jubilant 26-year-old was overcome with relief and disbelief at how his fortune has changed in such a short space of time.
“I can’t believe this! I’ve been trying so hard to win for a long time, I’m really happy!” Andrae exclaimed after admitting that he had somewhat pinned his hopes on winning one of the SUVs with things did not go his way with the car loan.
Pennant, who works as a photographer with a resort chain, was making his way to work in a taxi when he received the phone call from Digicel.
As a regular participant in the promotion, Pennant had been purchasing three-day plans with hopes of becoming one of the lucky four SUV winners. “The taxi thing wasn’t working out; I’d always be late for work so I said I really, really need this car!” he shared.
Missie Pennant, Andrae’s mother who supported his journey from the very beginning was overjoyed by her son’s win, “Yes God, full time! A mus’ one breakthrough this!” she proudly remarked.
The grand moment of handing over the keys to the brand-new SUV took place at Digicel’s Rev & Win Roadshow in Mandeville, Manchester where Tari Lovell, Digicel chief marketing officer had the honour of presenting the prize to Andrae. Overwhelmed with emotion, Andrae was lost for words after realising that all his efforts finally paid off.
“This is what these moments are about! Seeing the joy on Andrae’s face right now and the support from his Mom is just amazing. To know that we’ve just give a young, 26-year old a brand-new vehicle to enjoy the summer, build his business, and take his Mom around, makes us that much happier to keep finding way to give back and excite our customers,” said Lovell.
