Full compliance of December 2022 annual equities returns

15 monthly returns were due and 14 were submitted on time

The Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE) is reporting 100 per cent compliance for the submission of annual returns by equities companies for the financial year ended September 30, 2022 by the deadline of December 31, 2022.

In its December 2022 Monthly Regulatory Report, the JSE’s Regulatory Market and Oversight Division (RMOD) says, “for the reporting period, two Annual Returns were due and submitted on time. The aggregate compliance rate for member-dealers’ filing of financial returns due for the month ended December 2022, was 94 per cent”.

For the 2021 comparative reporting period, member-dealers’ aggregate compliance rate was also 94 per cent. In accordance with JSE Rule 209 (B) member-dealers are required to file Quarterly Returns for the period ended November 30, 2022, by December 31, 2022.

14 MONTHLY RETURNS SUBMITTED ON TIME

For the reporting period, no Quarterly Returns were due. The JSE’s RMOD explains that for the reporting period, 15 monthly returns were due and of the 15; 14 were submitted on time.

For the reporting period ended November 2022, all member-dealers satisfied the JSE’s Excess Net Free Capital requirement as prescribed by JSE Rule Appendix 12.

The RMOD advises, “market surveillance and compliance issues that were brought to the attention of the JSE for the month of December 2022 amounted to 13 versus 28 for the comparative period of 2021″.
