Generation 2000 (G2K), the young professional affiliate of the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP), proudly hosted the Party’s 83rd Anniversary Celebration, bringing together senior JLP executives, former and current G2K presidents, members, supporters, and stakeholders for an evening that celebrated the Party’s enduring legacy while signalling a bold vision for its future.

The vibrant and well-attended celebration reflected the unity, strength, and renewed energy within G2K and reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to developing the next generation of leaders dedicated to serving Jamaica.

In her address, G2K President Sashana Lee Edwards described the celebration as a defining moment in the organisation’s resurgence. “Tonight, it is more than a celebration of 83 remarkable years of the Jamaica Labour Party. It is a powerful statement that G2K is back, stronger, more united, and more determined than ever to reclaim its place as Jamaica’s leading youth political organisation. We are building a movement that is driven by purpose, powered by young people, and committed to shaping Jamaica’s future.”

President Edwards expressed sincere appreciation to the senior executives of the Jamaica Labour Party for their unwavering support and confidence in G2K’s leadership. She also recognised the invaluable contributions of the organisation’s past presidents, commending them for laying the foundation upon which the organisation continues to grow.

“We honour those who led before us. Their vision, sacrifice and dedication built an institution that has produced leaders who continue to make meaningful contributions to Jamaica. Their continued support inspires us to build an even stronger G2K for generations to come.”
