Don Wehby, former CEO of GraceKennedy Group, was one of Jamaica’s most accomplished and celebrated sons, a man held in high regard by many.
The news of his death, though sad, saw tributes pour out across the land.
Don Wehby was a man of equanimity and good humour. You could count on him to do the right thing, and you paid attention to his advice. A devoted family man, he served GraceKennedy well for decades. He loved sports and had a passion for horse racing.
He gave Champs his full support and helped see it become one of the best sporting events staged in Jamaica. He was a big cricket fan and played a role in attempting to return the West Indies to its preeminence.
Don Wehby was a proud patriot and saw it as his duty to both serve and promote his country.
Family man, Jamaican, CEO, senator, friend and sportsman Don Wehby will be missed. Let’s remember and revere him.
“Father, into your hands we commend our brother Don.
We are confident that with all who have died in Christ, he will be raised to life on the last day and live forever with Christ.
We thank you for all the blessings you gave him in this life to show your fatherly care for all of us and the fellowship which is ours with the saints in Jesus Christ.”
