The Chinese Embassy hosted a marvellous reception at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel in New Kingston last Thursday (September 25) to celebrate the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.

The occasion also served to introduce the new Chinese Ambassador to Jamaica Wang Jinfeng to leading Jamaican officials and dignitaries.

The ballroom was splendidly decorated.

During his address, Ambassador Wang said, “Jamaica has successfully wrapped up the general election, and the new administration has been sworn into office. The stage for new chapters in China-Jamaica relations is set. China stands ready to work with the new Government of Jamaica to consolidate political mutual trust, deepen pragmatic cooperation, enhance people-to-people exchanges and strengthen coordination on international and regional affairs.”
