
Respected administrator Garth Gayle, president of the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA), is now the new vice-president of the North American Central America and Caribbean Athletics Association (NACAC).
He was elected to the position on Sunday (July 23), with Jamaican Sports Minister Olivia Grange being among the first to offer Gayle congratulatory messages.
On her Facebook page, Minister Grange noted that Gayle’s elevation was “a major achievement”.
“So proud of you Garth. Well deserved,” she added.
NACAC is the continental confederation governing body of athletics for national governing bodies and multi-national federations within Northern America, Central America, and the Caribbean.
NACAC, which is one of six area associations of World Athletics, was founded on December 10, 1988, in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
