Jamaican industry and the motoring public will have to contend with higher pump prices this week, amid the latest baseline update by State-owned refinery, Petrojam.
Petrojam, in its closely watched petroleum product price index, advised that 87-octane gasolene will cost J$2.59 more effective midnight Thursday (April 18), to open at an introductory price of $177.26.
In the third consecutive cycle of price increases at the pumps, the rise was more pronounced for 87- and 90-octane gasolene, each up J$2.59 and $2.60 in comparison to the last seven days.
On the other hand, propane and butane saw the sharpest price reduction this week, dropping J$2.50 and J$3.06 respectively.
